The Child visa is intended for individuals seeking a permanent visa as dependent children (biological or, in specific situations, step-children) of an Australian citizen, a permanent visa holder, or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
The sponsorship for the child must come from either the parent or the parent’s partner. The child must fall into one of these categories: under 18 years old, between 18 and 25 years old and actively pursuing full-time studies, or over 18 years old with a disability. Additionally, the child must have been financially reliant on the sponsor for a substantial period.
